Résumé du livre
A little girl, whose parents are traveling, has been left in the care of a Nanny she doesn't like, runs away. After trudging beside a river all day, she enters the woods and finds a little house that looks like the one in the story. She soon discovers that this is the home of a dwarf, who knows how to take care of little girls. But this is not the dwarf of fairy tales. This is a man who has turned away from society, and now must be taught how to love again.
