Résumé du livre
As a result of man-made eutrophication, mass growths (blooms) of cyanobacteria have become a great problem in the aquatic environment, both economically and recreationally. Previous attempts at reducing cyanobacterial populations have generally been by the use of chemicals such as copper sulphate. Our research has been concerned with the use of naturally occuring microbial agents and the use of cyanobacterial lawn technique has enable the isolation of fungal and bacterial antagonists. Visualisation of the effect on the cyanobactria have been observed by the use of cryo-scanning electron microscopy. The conclusions derived from these experiments are that the causative agents appear to be diffisible, excreatory bioproducts such as antibiotics.
