Résumé du livre
"In this study, we have taken two philosophies: one, modern -- that of David Hume, the eighteenth century empiricist; the other, ancient -- that of Heraclitus the Greek. We have here examined both systems with the purpose of showing that both have reduced reality to the same sort of philosophical mechanism. They have different starting points. Heraclitus begins with the objective world, the world around him. Home, however, starts his inquiry with the subjective doctrine; both men, in the long run, arrive at the same goal."--
