To escape the German bombing in 1941, 11 year old twins Will and Rosie are sent to stay with an eccentric aunt and uncle on their farm in the Scottish Highlands. Shortly after their arrival an enemy plane crashes nearby, and they start secretly to search for the missing pilot who is believed to have parachuted down before the crash. This involves them in a thrilling adventure and an unexpected chain of events involving top secret information, the search for a mysterious house and the astounding discovery of who is living there.
