Résumé du livre

"In response to the negative affects of downsizing and restructuring initiatives on survivors of the organization, this study seeks to understand how preplanning strategies can make for successful implementation and recovery. Using existing opinion research and a preplanning research model, this paper explores the need to look to the common employee in addition to members of the leaership team. An inductive analysis suggests that a preplanning practice that addresses the concerns of employees at various levels would benefit the organization. Further, the use of preplanning downsizing strategies seems necessary for the future of the organization and its survivors. Also, the data suggests that employees want to add value to the organizational processes and solutios. Based on the findings, several implications for the development of organizational preplanning polices in preparation for downsizing or restructuring initiatives are discussed."--Author's abstract.
