Résumé du livre

A letter written by Christopher Van Deventer to the Superintendent of West Point, Major General Sylvanus Thayer dated March 11th, 1818, in which Van de Venter speaks on how he has little free time to answer correspondence or see his family. He also mentions that the publication of a list of distinguished Cadets will be seen to. Van de Venter moves on to a plan devised by General Swift to cause the Chairman of the Military, the Congress, and the Senate to focus on internal improvements. To finish the letter, he mentions a catalog of books that Thayer had forwarded as appropriations to West Point which had not yet been completed, but Van de Venter hoped they would be done shortly and as required.
