This introductory botany laboratory manual attempts to: (1) provide a broad survey of botanical materials; (2) emphasize some of the more important relevant biological concepts; (3) correlate the lab work closely with lecture and text materials; (4) include sufficiently clear and detailed instructions to make possible independent work by each student; (5) require active participation on the part of the student in utilization of laboratory materials, but keep unproductive busy work to a minimum; and (6) allow an experimental approach whenever possible.
