Résumé du livre
The district described in this memoir lies in the middle of the Scottish southern uplands and includes parts of Kirkcudbrightshire and Dumfriesshire. It is covered by Sheets 9W and 9E of the 1:50 000 geological map series for Scotland. The district is rural and sparsely populated, with the principal town being Dumfries. This memoir is the first geological survey description of this district since the original sheet explanation was published in 1877.
