Résumé du livre
Alfred Wallis and James Dixon both began painting in later life, depicting scenes from their native fishing villages at St Ives, Cornwall, and Tory Island, Ireland, with a unique purity of expression. This volume, published in association with the irish Museum of Modern Art, revisits and re-evaluates their celebrated "primitive" seascapes, landscapes, boat scenes, portraits and allegories, painted on odd bits of cardboard or board with improvised materials.
