Résumé du livre
Naïves hirondelles describes an absurd world, with an imperturbable and deranged logic (as in 1es Diablogues). It is an ambitious piece, the main themes of which are the impossibility of communicating, or even of speaking, the difficulty of being, the absence of people. The piece dates from 1961, its title designates a ritornello. The story can hardly be summed up: at two old abulic boys arrives a poor orphan girl who is looking for work as a milliner. A hat maker will protect her. The struggle with the objects, the whimsical dialogues, a cheesy pie that never stops baking, a porcelain vase that is endlessly reconstituted from debris (bought because broken dishes are less expensive than the other) are some of the elements that make the play comical, and its melancholy charm. We think of Queneau, Prévert, the painting of Magritte. Raymond Devos will remember this exquisite art.
