For some Austinites, the slogan "Keep Austin Weird" is a mantra for daily living. "Keep Austin Weird" is a trademarked phrase whose purpose is to foster the support of local businesses. However for many, it extends to Austin as a whole. Keeping Austin weird also means keeping Austin unique, free-spirited, and artistic. Humble Trash is a documentary that tells the unique stories of six Austin homeowners who do their part in keeping Austin weird. They find new, creative and often artistic new uses for what would be considered humble trash. They use this humble trash to adorn their homes and yards. These are modest development homes that would otherwise look ordinary and run-of-the-mill.
