Résumé du livre
This is the seventeenth bulletin in the series of Hygienic Laboratory publications known as the Digest of Comments on the Pharmacopoeia of the United States and the National Formulary. Like preceding numbers of the series, it is a comprehensive index of all the available literature published during the calendar year 1921 which may be of interest or value in connection with the revision of the two official drug standards of the United States. With reference to foreign standards, much of interest has taken place. New editions of the Italian and Japanese pharmacopoeias have appeared, the revision of the German Pharmacopoeia has gotten well under way, the Royal Academy of Medicine of Spain appointed a commission to elaborate a new Spanish Pharmacopoeia, and the elaboration of a Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia as an addendum to the Italian Pharmacopoeia was ordered. As been done in the past, other comments than those having direct bearing on the two drug standards of the United States have been included. This has been done for the purpose of indexing the literature which may have an indirect or future value in this connection. For this reason the more important articles on food and drug laws, antinarcotic laws, poison laws, cultivation of medicinal plants, synthetic remedies, chemotherapy, organotherapy, antiseptics and disinfectants, biologics, etc., have been abstracted.
