Résumé du livre

The Manion Lecture is an important event for the Canadian Centre for Management Development, for the public service, and, increasingly, for the public management community in Canada. This lecture addresses the roles of senior public servants and academics as managers and as advisors to government with regards to the global challenges facing Canada. Opening with a description of the changes forced on Los Angeles as a result of the earthquake of 1994, Adler discusses the economic, political and cultural changes which affect us; the change from domestic to transnational structures; social responsibility; and transnational competencies (global vision, worldwide learning, cross-cultural effectiveness).
