Résumé du livre
The Charles T. Bowen papers consist primarily of correspondence written by Charles Bowen during the years 1861 to 1864, to his wife, mother, grandparents, and friends in Washington Mills, New York. These letters recount Bowen's involvement in the Civil War as a soldier in Company G, 12th Regiment, U.S. Infantry, his thoughts about the war, and his concerns for the welfare of his wife and family at home. Other correspondence in the collection includes letters to Charles Bowen in Washington Mills, from friends and cousins after his return from the war in 1864, letters from Charles to his mother dated 1859, and a letter from Charles' step-father, E.B. Morgan to his mother, Juliaette.
