Résumé du livre
Barry Jackson was an English theatre director, entrepreneur and the founder of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre and, alongside George Bernard Shaw, the Malvern Festival. He began by acting in a company composed of friends, and ended as a great man of the theatre, with an unequaled record for achievement. He brought new ideas, new plays, and new actors (such as Laurence Olivier, Peggy Ashcroft, Edith Evans, Stewart Granger, Ralph Richardson) new directors not only regional repertory theatre, but the West End. In many ways, he was the Fairy Godmother of British drama. This brief biography examines his career until the year 1933.
