The Electrodeposition of ZnS Thin Films on Indium-tin Oxide Coated Glass Substrates

Over 30 ZnS films were deposited onto ITO-coated glass substrates from an aqueous bath. The acthodic substrate was kept at constant potential conditions with the use of a potentiostat program and saturated calomel electrode. The composition of each film was determined by EDS (characteristic X-ray spectral analysis). The deposition times, potentials and aqueous bath conditions were varied in order to study the effects on the stoicheiometry of the films and current density of the deposition. The count rates of characteristic X-ray lines emmitted from the films indicate a saturation point during deposition.
