The Ludwigsthal Oberschlesien Cemetery

A visit to the Piasek, Poland (former German Ludwigsthal, Oberschlesien) cemetery on September 20, 2019: we spent the afternoon in Strzebiń with Krystyna Czornik, her husband Henryk and their daughter Marta who had invited us to visit this cemetery. They welcomed us with coffee and cake and took us to the cemetery where my Ortenburger ancestors are buried. The cemetery had been locked for years but was recently opened. It looked like a jungle. After 1992 the cemetery was vandalized and many of the grave markers were destroyed or removed. The search continues for the actual cemetery burial books.
