Résumé du livre
A brief general background of the nature of air blast and ground shock is presented together with the psychological problems which often arise. The background presented here is intended to help the reader who is not fully acquainted with these problems to understand quickly the reasons for the specific instrumentation requirements. Actual methods and instrumentation for making absolute measurements and for analysis thereof are described as successfully used by the Explosives Research Group to record thousands of demolition shots throughout the United States. The information in Section V concerning seismic transducers may help to prevent rather common mistakes of attempting to use such instruments outside their limits. Basic information, with short-cut methods for extrapolation to practical conditions, is included wherever possible as an aid to those concerned with the same problems discussed in this report.
