Résumé du livre
This study evaluated the implementation of a school-wide discipline plan by teachers and school administration. In the study, six teachers and one school administrator were interviewed to establish their views on the discipline plan. In addition to the interviews, a document review was done on the Parent and Student Handbook in order to show what formal documentation the school had on its discipline policy. The findings in the study showed that while teachers felt they were part of the creation of the plan, there was inconsistency in the implementation and follow through of the plan. There was confusion amongst teachers as to what the school's process was for handling discipline even though the completed review revealed that the school had a formal process in place. There were also a wide range of opinions and suggestions from teachers about what should be done to improve the school's discipline plan. The discussion focuses on teacher involvement in creating the discipline plan, the inconsistencies present within the plan, and the suggestions for improving the plan. In addition there were recommendations for practice, the significance of the study, limitations that were present, and recommendations for future studies.
